Independent Assessments and Special Studies

IO performs Institutional Independent Assessments and Special Studies to evaluate management systems, processes, or programs in the areas of environment, safety, health, quality, or any other functional areas that necessitate review as requested by BNL management.

Institutional Independent Assessments are scheduled at the beginning of each fiscal year as approved by the BNL Director and Deputy Directors.

IO Assessment/Special Study Reports provide:

• Answers to specific management questions
• Analysis of events and causal factors
• Identification of root cause(s)
• Identification of strengths and areas for improvement
• Recommendations for improvement
